Grooming typically takes 3-4 hours and is subject to change based on the day's schedule.
No, your dog is most certainly not sitting in a cage for 3-4 hours. In fact, we try to minimize that amount of time as best we can. If your dog is dropped off on time, they are briefly placed in the cage until ready to be washed. Once bathed, they are blown dry. From there, they are taken to the grooming tables for their haircut, nail trimming, etc. We call you 20 minutes before your dog is ready to be picked up to avoid putting them in the cage once they are finished with grooming. However, if you are not here by the time they are done, your dog will be placed in cage until your arrival.
No, we ask that you do not stay and watch while your dog is being groomed. Your presence will only prolong and complicate the grooming process, as it overly excites your dog causing unsafe conditions for them. It is best to drop off your dog at their scheduled appointment time and come back when you are called.
We are qualified and equipped to handle dogs with behavioral issues to a certain extent. If your dog is extremely uncooperative and uncomfortable during any part of the grooming process, we will stop and be unable to continue and/or complete the service. Please note that we do not and cannot sedate dogs.
No, we are not a doggy daycare center. We will call you 20 minutes before your dog is ready for pickup to ensure you have enough time to make your way over to the store. We do not enjoy caging dogs for extended periods of time. Thus, prompt pickup is greatly appreciated. Otherwise, you will be subject to a boarding fee. If you have timing concerns, please let us know prior to scheduling your appointment.
Any dog that suffers from knots and/or matting must be assessed by the groomer the day of the appointment. Sometimes these knots cannot be brushed out and thus, must be shaved in order to maintain your dog’s healthy coat. Every situation is different, so our groomers will be sure to advise you on what should be done. For more information about matting, please refer to our article "Mats 101" above.
For longer styles, opt for grooming appointments every 4-6 weeks.
For medium or shorter, more manageable lengths, opt for appointments every 6-8 weeks.
We currently have two licensed and certified pet grooming professionals. If you would like to request a specific groomer, please indicate the individual in the “Appointment Notes,” and we will do our best to accommodate your request.
